Aunt Jean Scott (Osborne)
transferred some old recordings from 1960.
On the recordings:
The Osbornes (My Grandparents: Floyd Ellsworth and Mary Elsie Osborne and their children) having an 'After Church sing-along'
at our house (which was where everyone usually headed Sunday afternoons). Uncle Elmo Osborne was the Pastor, Uncle Floyd Osborne
the Assistant Pastor of the church, so it was just a continuation of the morning service, except with a lot more singing and
lots of laughter and plenty of Dad’s homemade icecream… Banana was my favorite.
I'm putting the different
tracks up... 25 in all. I was just a few months old when the recording was made and at one point after "Just a Little Talk
with Jesus" (track 10) Grandpa and Elsie are talking and you can hear Dad (Norman Osborne) ask if Grandpa wants some
more coffee... then you can hear Granddady Whitfield come in and say '... you got a fine one here, haven't you?', Grandpa
Osborne says 'yeh...' hard to tell what he said next, 'cept he went into another song.. Mom said they were talking about me. Anyway, it's wonderful listening to all the relatives
and thought the rest of the family would like to download the recordings... especially those of Grandpa Osborne singing.
Love to all... Kathy
